During my PhD studies I was a member of the Computational Science Center (CSC) and of the Vienna Graduate School in Computational Science. In my thesis I investigated Optical flow on evolving manifolds with an application to the analysis of fluorescence microscopy data.
2005-2012
I obtained an MSc in Computational Intelligence from TU Wien. My master's thesis is on Image denoising with variational methods via graph cuts and was primarily supervised by Univ-Prof Dr Otmar Scherzer. Prior to my master's studies I graduated with a BSc in Software & Information Engineering. Teaching & Outreach

In 2020, Christoph Derndorfer-Medosch and I were interviewed by Alexander Schatten on the 'Zukunft Denken' podcast on the topic of Offene Systeme (in German).

In 2019, jointly with Christoph Derndorfer-Medosch, I designed and held a new lecture course on Free and Open Technologies at TU Wien as part of the new master’s programme Media and Human-Centered Computing. See also the official course page.

In 2018, jointly with Yury Korolev, I did a live demo of the DiffuserCam (lensless single exposure imaging using just a Raspberry Pi camera sensor and scotch tape) at the Maths Public Open Day at the Cambridge Science Festival.

In 2018, jointly with Matthias Erhardt, I held the lecture course Inverse Problems at the University of Cambridge during Lent term as part of the Mathematical Tripos Part III.
